Safe Schools Two-Page Brief

This brief outlines Safe Schools, an inclusive all-hazards approach to keeping children safe from violence, disasters, conflict and everyday hazards in and around schools. In its development, the Child Protection and Education themes have brought together three approaches – Comprehensive School Safety, Schools as Zones of Peace and Violence-Free Schools – into a single approach to address a wider range of hazards in and around schools. This brief is useful for communicating to both technical and non-technical staff interested in learning more about the approach including the components, evidence-base, advocacy, cross-cutting issues and implementation.
