Safe at School: Education sector responses to violence based on sexual orientation, gender identity/expression or sex characteristics in Europe

Every child has the right to a safe and quality education, irrespective of their sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, or sex characteristics. Over the past decade, national education sectors in most Council of Europe member States have initiated or continued efforts to address violence based on sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, or sex characteristics (SOGIESC-based violence). This report offers an overview of such violence in European schools, examines the measures taken by member States to prevent or address it, and provides recommendations for national education sectors to enhance their efforts.
