IREWOC, International Research on Working Children

This IREWOC research project has gathered information on the various forms of rural child labour in the Andean countries Bolivia and Peru, and identified the worst forms among them. This report on Peru begins by describing general living conditions, then goes on to present the working activities of the children, what the main implications are, reasons for children to work and an identification of the worst forms. It then outlines the different interventions implemented by NGOs to improve the situation of rural child labour in the research regions. Conclusions and recommendations are summarized in the final chapter.
