For the last decade, Côte d’Ivoire has experienced a socio-political crisis, which has had severe humanitarian consequences for children. Children’s enrollment and access to school have greatly declined, as did the quality of the education available due to lack of teachers and a dramatic decline in resources. This is a presentation of Rewrite the Future’s overall project in Côte d’Ivoire, aiming to secure good quality education for all, and to give every child the opportunity to attend school in a safe, participatory environment. So far, over 50 000 children have been able to begin school as a result of the countrywide Rewrite the Future programme in Côte d’Ivoire, supported by Save the Children Sweden, UK and Finland. Teachers and other education officials in Côte d’Ivoire also benefit from the project.
