Save the Children International
43 million children living in countries around the world wrecked by war and armed conflict are being left without the chance to go to school. This report is part of Save the Children’s five-year Rewrite the Future education initiative, which seeks to help millions of children in conflict-affected areas gain access to and reap the current and future benefits of a quality education. Children living in countries which experience armed conflict receive the least amount of assistance for education because major international donors find it too difficult to deliver aid to them. Save the Children is calling for the international community to provide an extra US $5.8 billion in aid a year to fund education in conflict affected fragile states and get all children into school.
