Review of Education and Child Protection Cluster Coordination Training: Liberia, 28 September to 1 October 2011

The course was the first Cluster Coordination course involving both Education and Child Protection at the same training. There was an almost 50:50 representation of both sectors, with representatives from government – Ministry of Education, Social Welfare, Gender – from 5 counties. There were also participants from UNICEF, UNHCR, LRRRC, Save UK, Plan, Vision in Action, and IRC. The training was funded and organised by the UNICEF Regional Education Office (WCARO), managed through RedR UK and supported by the UNICEF Education Office in Liberia. The key facilitators were Linda Richardson, Andrea Berther and Ulla Blomquist, with support from participants Michael Charley, Jockshan Foryoh (Education Team Leader, Grand Gedeh, IRC) and Victoria Zaway (Director Ministry of Health and Social Welfare) who presented sessions.
