Résumé du rapport alternatif sur la mise en oeuvre de la Convention relative aux droits de l’enfant en République Démocratique du Congo

The submission and presentation of this Alternative Report on the implementation of the UNCRC in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) by a group of four Non-governmental organisations was made possible thanks to the financial support of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). The NGOs unanimously acknowledge DRC’s efforts in improving the legal framework that ensures the protection of children’s rights at the regional, national and international level through the promulgation and ratification of new laws during the past 6 years. The problem resides, however, in the fact that the provisions of some of the legal texts contravene the CRC (such as the Penal Code, the Family Code and the Decree of 6 December 1950 on Juvenile Delinquency).
