With the aim of increasing acceptability and the use of family planning in marginalized communities in rural Nepal, the Fertility Awareness for Community Transformation (FACT) Project developed the Pragati approach. This set of nine community level games sparked challenging conversations around fertility and family planning, including the side-effects of family planning methods, and social norms driving family size and gender relations. They also facilitate discussion around social and gender norms—unspoken rules that govern behavior—to challenge those norms that negatively influence access to family planning.
