SAIEVAC, South Asia Initiative to End Violence against Children
The report gives a regional overview of the progress, gaps and challenges in realizing legal protection rights for all children and presents an updated status of corporal punishment in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The report documents the commitments from governments and civil society to foster legal reforms and prohibit all forms of corporal punishment in the countries. It also highlights the global progress on ending violence against children and the linkages with the agenda of the UN Special Representatives on Violence against Children, who participated in the discussions.
