Humanitarian responses in conflict affected contexts are faced with difficult challenges in ensuring delivery of quality programs in volatile operating contexts such as those found in Somalia. As such, learning and accountability call for multiple and innovative approaches to otherwise conventional monitoring systems.
This report briefly presents and analyzes the scenario and strategies adopted by the Save the Children International Somalia country office to make the remote monitoring system both functional and useful. The Somalia country office strives to improve remote monitoring and accountability practices through innovation and increased attention. The staff find a distinct potential for success.
