Girls and boys in vulnerable situations are treated differently. The supportive activities for child soldiers, where the majority are boys, are not adjusted to meet the needs of girl soldiers. Likewise, the support for children exploited in prostitution, where most of them are girls, is not adjusted to meet the needs of boys. This report, issued by Save the Children Sweden, presents some challenges/gaps that will need further consideration in the future, in order to improve the recovery of girls and boys who have been exploited and abused. The report is intended for use within Save the Children Sweden for internal discussions on programme development and for capacity building of staff on gender sensitive planning and implementation of reintegration programmes for girls and boys engaged in the worst forms of work.
