Regional Inter-State Consultation Mechanisms on Migration: Approaches, recent activities and implications for global governance of migration

Produced by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), this report summarizes 25 regional and interregional consultative processes and forums on migration, also known as regional consultative processes (RCPs). It provides commentary on the purpose and definition of RCPs as well as the evolving dialogue around the development of interregional forums (IRFs) in contrast to RCPs.

The review of the 25 regional and interregional consultative processes and forums on migration show that these bodies provide an encouraging arena for common ground to further regional discussions and cooperation on practical issues of migration.
