Public Awareness and Public Education for Disaster Risk Reduction: Action oriented key messages for households and schools

The Chinese version of the Public Awareness and Public Education for Disaster Risk Reduction: Action-Oriented Key Messages for Households and Schools provides messages for all types of hazards including 11 major hazards, family disaster preparedness, and school standard operating procedures. It aims to adapt international experience on DRR to Chinese contexts, build a culture of safety, and transform knowledge into concrete actions.

These key action messages can form the foundation for public awareness messaging, information, education and communication materials, and curriculum development for disaster risk reduction. The localization efforts were coordinated among Save the Children International, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and the Innovation Center for Risk Governance at Beijing Normal University.
