This protocol supplements the United Nations Convention against Transnational Crime. It is intended to be interpreted together with the Convention and to give particular attention to women and children. It gives explicit instructions to States Parties of acceptable and necessary actions to prevent, protect, and repatriate victims of human trafficking as well as how to punish trafficking infractions.
