Protecting Children from Violence: A comprehensive evaluation of UNICEF’s strategies and programme performance

Publication year:

2015

Format:

pdf

Publisher:

UNICEF, United Nations Children's Fund

Protecting children from violence is central to UNICEF’s mandate as an organization guided by the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC). UNICEF’s Child Protection Strategy and strategic plans provide organizational strategies and results frameworks to address VAC. UNICEF’s advocacy and programme response to protecting children from violence spans more than two decades, but has never before been comprehensively evaluated.

This independent evaluation was commissioned by UNICEF to assess its programming to eliminate violence against children across a broad spectrum of criteria. Reference is made to Sustainable Development Goal 16.2 and how programming will have to adapt and improve to meet it. The conclusions from this report are valuable for organisations that perform programming that targets violence against children.
