During the past decade, there has been great progress in women’s, children’s, and adolescents’ health. For example, maternal mortality has dropped by 35 percent while mortality rates for children under the age of five have been reduced by 50 percent. The progress, however, is not equally distributed across the world, and strategies must therefore be analyzed and developed to suit the divergent realities at the regional and country level. There are also new and emerging threats such as climate change and COVID-19 which may hamper the progress made.
The report explores the global progress in women’s, children’s and adolescents’ health, including up-to-date information on the impact of COVID-19.
