Prohibiting All Corporal Punishment of Children: Learning from states which have achieved law reform

This briefing was prepared by the Global Initiative to End all Corporal Punishment of Children. It explores the successes and shortcomings of countries that have achieved law reform to end corporal punishment of children. Among their findings is the discovery that effective prohibition of corporal punishment requires that the language used is clear and not liable to misinterpretation. Specific examples of language are given from the legal codes in Denmark and Norway.
