Private Sector Involvement in Education: A perspective from Nepal and Pakistan

This document, submitted to the Committee on the Rights of the Child on “Theme Day 2002”, provides case studies of the impact of private schools on the provision of primary and secondary education in Nepal and Pakistan. The paper concludes with recommendations to the Committee with regard to private sector provision of education, including aspects related to State regulation and monitoring of the activities of private schools.
