This Toolkit aims to define the outcomes of effective approaches for responding to and preventing the phenomenon of street children, and to formulate replicable and evidence-based Practical Tools addressing their priority needs. The best examples of programming for children on the street from various countries, such as Georgia, Albania, Kosovo and the North West Balkans, Egypt, Lebanon, and SC globally, are examined and used. The Toolkit is comprised of the same 5 essential steps:
Step 1 – Conduct Situational Analysis;
Step 2 – Strengthen Inter-Sectoral Coordination and Foster Partnership;
Step 3 – Build / Strengthen Preventative Measures;
Step 4 – Develop Response Mechanisms;
Step 5 – Consider Essential Cross-Cutting Actions.
