Practical Protection Monitoring Guide is a comprehensive resource document for conducting protection monitoring activities. It is a guide to how, in response to a refugee crisis in Balkans, Praxis set up and developed protection monitoring activities. They established a system of collecting, verifying, and analysing information, in order to identify human rights violations and protection risks encountered by refugees/migrants.They also identify how these activities are combined with complementary activities, such as provision of information, referrals, protection by presence, and advocacy activities. The guide is useful for professionals in the field, and readers interested in learning more about protection issues in a refugee crisis.
Practical Protection Monitoring Guide was prepared by Serbian non-governmental organization Praxis, as part of the project funded by Save the Children, during the refugee and migrant crisis response in Serbia 2016/17. Praxis, together with Balkans Migration and Displacement Centre, which originated from Refugee Responses in Serbia, FYRoM and Croatia, runs mobile outreach teams which operate in urban areas of Serbian capital Belgrade.
