This document outlines roles and responsibilities for the education sector in supporting young people who are living with HIV to realize their personal, social and educational potential. It provides practical recommendations for all those involved in the education sector, and offers suggestions for those in the health sector and for civil society. It is a tool for young people living with HIV to advocate for more appropriate, conducive and supportive education systems. “All young people, regardless of HIV status, must have access to quality education and an equal opportunity to realise their full potential. We all have a role to play in making this commitment a reality”. This publication was produced by UNESCO’s Section of Education and HIV & AIDS (within the Division of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development, Education Sector) in collaboration with The Global Network of People Living with HIV (GNP+) Young People’s programme.
