This report covers the Regional Capacity Building and Advocacy Workshop on Positive Discipline Techniques to Replace Corporal/Physical and Humiliating and Degrading Punishment of Girls and Boys, held at Jaipur, India, between 19th – 23rd April, 2004. The workshop report presents an understanding of child development and psychology in relation to the negative impact of physical and humiliating punishment of children. The report captures positive discipline techniques that can be used to train others in three settings: family, schools and institutions.
