This manual is the result of the Project “Niños, Sujetos de Derechos” (Children subjects of rights), developed by Promundo with the support of Save the Children Sweden and the Bernard Van Leer Foundation. The aim of the report was to evaluate an intervention programme and determine its impact at community level as well as at an inter-personal level. The purpose of the intervention was to promote a harmonic and non-violent relationship between parents/carers and children, seeking to transform educational responses and reduce violent attitudes and behaviours against children within the family setting. The manual is a tool that can be used by health professionals working with or for children and their families on issues related to physical and humiliating punishment.
