‘Participate with you and participate with me’ is a new child and youth friendly guide jointly launched by Save the Children, Plan International, and War Child Holland as a contribution to the 2009 General Assembly Resolution on the Rights of the Child. It is a tool aimed at motivating everyone under the age of 18 to learn more about child and youth participation in all aspects of life and society, and about what national and local governments are doing to make sure these rights are being respected. The guide gives children access to fun and creative excercises and activities specifically adapted to accommodate different age groups, enabling them to communicate their views on their experience of participation. To help you understand words from the text that may be unfamiliar, there is a short glossary of specialized terms with their definitions at the end of the document. Two similar books promoting children’s participation titled “Safe You & Safe Me” (about violence against children), and ‘Equal You & Equal Me’ (about different forms of discrimination), are available through the link provided under “Related documents”. Enjoy your reading and don’t forget – your voice and opinions matter and count!
