Overview of the Foundational ECCD Training with Early Literacy and Math

This training package was developed in Bhutan as part of the ELM implementation, including nine-day foundational training for new Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) facilitators from the community who can read and write, and Five-day TOT for partners and government trainers.​ Following the foundational training, ECCD facilitators will be able to:​ Guide young children through the daily routine in the ECCD center​ Promote children’s learning and development for all the developmental domains and record their progress​ Engage children in early literacy and math activities to facilitate their transition into pre-primary classes​ Create a partnership with parents to support the ECCD center and promote child development at home.

The assessment tool gauge the development and early learning status of young children ages 3.5 – 6.5 years old to understand their learning levels on entry to primary grade.
