Outcome Harvest Report for the IHA Health and Protection Response to Complex Crisis in Afar, Ethiopia (2024–2026)

From 2024 to 2026, Save the Children, with funding from Global Affairs Canada, strengthened access to health, SRH, child protection, and GBV services in Ethiopia’s Afar Region despite conflict, drought, and volcanic displacement. The project reached over 128,000 people with health services and more than 50,000 with protection services, while improving facility readiness, mobile outreach, emergency referrals, and community protection systems. The experience demonstrates how integrated health, protection, and system-strengthening interventions can sustain essential services and build community resilience in fragile humanitarian settings.
