Save the Children Norway
In September 2012, seven youth aged 15-17 years from four countries; Nepal, Uganda, Guatemala and Albania, travelled to New York to advocate for children and youth to participate in peace processes and peace building. The purpose was to raise awareness among UN member states, UN institutions and Non-governmental organizations on children and youth roles and contributions to peace processes and peace building and to start discussing the steps for a UN resolution on children, youth and peace building. Participatory processes at local, national and regional levels for several years made it possible for the seven youth to represent their peers in four regions, Asia, Africa, South East Europe and the Middle East, and Latin America. In this video you follow the youth through their preparations and at the meetings during their days in New York.
