Save the Children
In 2017, Save the Children Sweden piloted a project titled “Orostelefonen”: an anonymous, free support line offering professional support in addressing the radicalisation of an acquaintance and a loved one. The line is available to both children and adults. The support line can be used by people who fear that someone in their surrounding environment might be vulnerable to hateful ideology, as well as by persons seeking to leave a violent, extremist group. “Orostelefonen” listens, provides support, and offers recommendations to callers.
This report describes the development of the support line and compiles the lessons learned from the initial year of the project. It aims to inform professionals working against the radicalisation of children and youth, and hopes to inspire ideas to enrich such work.
