A Save the Children Sweden report on gender equality in sports. Teenage boys and girls are dealt with in a different manner in school, very particularly in gym class. The testimonies of fifteen eight-graders reveal they are being treated unfairly in sports. The girls describe how they are received by the sports teacher, that the teacher decides the games to be played on the playground and sets the general tone and atmosphere of the gym class. The report also documents the activities of “Ellen”, a feminist-inspired project for 14 year old girls mainly aimed at counteracting sexual discrimination and strengthening girls’ self-esteem.
