Vital signs provide critical information about a person’s health. Nutrition screening is a vital sign, particularly for children and pregnant women, but the concept remains underused and under-assessed in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).

The study report details a qualitative study by MOMENTUM Country and Global Leadership in Malawi assessing the availability and usability of nutrition screening in both antenatal care (ANC) and integrated management of newborn and childhood illness (IMNCI) services.  It explores the attitudes and opinions of healthcare workers and identifies enablers and barriers to adoption of these tools.
