This end of project report demonstrates how NOURISH worked to accelerate stunting reduction by focusing directly on the causal factors of chronic malnutrition specific to Cambodia; poverty, lack of access to quality food and nutrition services, unsanitary environments, and social norms and practices that work against optimal child growth and development. Stunting, though not treatable, is preventable during the critical “first 1,000 days”, from conception until a child’s second birthday and evidence shows that multi-sectoral approaches that address malnutrition through interventions to improve WASH; increase access to diverse food for women and children; address suboptimal infant and young child feeding practices; and support social protection initiatives can be successful. This report provides lessons learned, challenges, successes of this project and how NOURISH’s work will continue past the end of the project.
