This report provides supplementary information on Uganda’s initial report on the implementation of the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on the involvement of children in armed conflict (OPAC). It highlights key measures undertaken to realise the provisions of the OPAC, including legislative reform, policy initiatives, administrative and other measures to prevent the recruitment of children and/or provide support to child victims. It documents some obstacles that still impinge on the effective implementation of the OPAC and concludes with specific recommendations to enable the government of Uganda to fulfill its obligations and commitments at international and national level.
