This report has been prepared and submitted by the Uganda Child Rights NGO Network to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child. It provides supplementary information on Uganda’s initial report on the implementation of the Optional Protocol on the Rights of the Child on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography (OPSC). It provides an overview of the situation of children in Uganda, emphasising the urgency required to do everything possible to eliminate violence and exploitation of children. It further analyses the institutional mechanisms and legal framework in place to support the implementation of the Protocol, highlights the various challenges and makes proposals for better protection of children. The last section gives general recommendations for improvement of implementation of the Protocol.
