National Safe Back to School Spotlight Cambodia

Globally, over 1.5 billion children have had their schools closed due to COVID-19 since early 2020. For the first time in history, an entire generation of children has had their education disrupted. In Cambodia, more than 3 million children have been out of school for most of the past year, with two major waves of schools closures since March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The loss, on average, of nearly 10% of children’s expected total lifetime schooling will not only have caused significant learning loss, but has put many children at risk of dropping out of school entirely.

នៅទូទាំងសកលលោក កុមារជាង ១,៥ពាន់លាននាក់ មិនបានទៅសាលារៀន ដោយសារការបិទសាលារៀន ដែលបណ្ដាលមកពីជម្ងឺកូវីដ ១៩ ចាប់តាំងពីឆ្នាំ២០២០មក។[i] នេះជាលើកដំបូងនៅក្នុងប្រវត្តិសាស្រ្ត ដែលកុមារទាំងអស់ ទទួលរងការរំខានចំពោះការអប់រំរបស់ពួកគេ។

នៅប្រទេសកម្ពុជា កុមារជាង ៣លាននាក់ មិនបានទៅសាលារៀនឡើយ នៅក្នុងរយៈពេលភាគច្រើននាឆ្នាំកន្លងទៅ ដែលបង្កឡើងដោយការបិទសាលារៀនចំនួនពីរដង ចាប់តាំងពីខែមីនា ឆ្នាំ២០២០មក ដោយសារបញ្ហារាតត្បាតនៃជម្ងឺកូវីដ ១៩។ ជាមធ្យម ការបាត់បង់ពេលវេលាចំនួនជិត ១០% នៃពេលវេលាសរុបដែលកុមារនឹងត្រូវចូលរៀន មិនត្រឹមតែនឹងបង្កឱ្យមានការបាត់បង់ការរៀនសូត្រគួរឱ្យកត់សម្គាល់ប៉ុណ្ណោះទេ ប៉ុន្តែថែមទាំងធ្វើឱ្យកុមារជាច្រើនប្រឈមនឹងហានិភ័យនៃការឈប់រៀនទាំងស្រុង។
