ACERWC, The African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child
In December 2014, the ACERWC sent a mission to CAR whose overall objective was to advocate for improved protection and response to children affected by armed conflict in the country. Specifically, the mission was tasked with assessing the impact of armed conflict on children in CAR and determining the key capacity and resource gaps for the prevention and response for children affected by armed conflict.
This document provides an assessment of the findings from that mission, which includes issues unearthed related to: right to education, right to health, the juvenile justice system, displaced and separated children, recruitment by armed groups, etc.
