CPWG, The Child Protection Working Group
The Child Protection Working Group (CPWG) launched the Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action in Geneva on October 29, 2012. These standards strive to strengthen coordination, improve the quality of protection programs, increase accountability and enable better communication on issues involving child protection. Save the Children contributed significantly as a lead organisation to the production of the inter-agency standards, which was carried out 22 CPWG member-organisations and agencies. Alongside this launch, an Implementation Strategy for 2012 to 2014 has also been produced. The overall goal of the Implementation Plan for the Minimum Standards is to have improved quality, predictability and accountability of child protection responses in humanitarian situations.
