Adolescent girls, particularly those from marginalized communities, often lack opportunities to build leadership and life skills within traditional education systems. The Girls Unstoppable project, implemented by Save the Children International in Vietnam with support from the LEGO Foundation, addresses this gap by fostering girls’ empowerment through play-based, rights-focused learning. Conducted from 2023 to 2026 across 30 schools and education centers in Quang Binh and Ho Chi Minh City, the project targets girls aged 10–13, especially those facing gender-based inequalities. This mid-term review evaluates the implementation phase in Quang Binh using a mixed-methods approach, combining surveys and focus group discussions. Findings show significant progress in enhancing girls’ confidence, agency, and peer solidarity, with many performance indicators exceeding targets. The project aligns with national education priorities and demonstrates strong local ownership and efficient implementation despite limited resources. Key enablers include institutional support, inclusive learning environments, and community engagement. These results affirm the project’s relevance and sustainability, offering a scalable model for advancing gender equity and youth leadership in education.
