This child-level measurement tool describes a method to understand the concerns of children and young people affected by armed conflict and forced migration. It outlines the steps in constructing a Children’s Worry Scale by first collecting children’s concerns, and then coding these into different categories and selecting a number of items from each category to construct a questionnaire. Education managers could use this tool in needs assessment or monitoring phases as an indication of children’s needs and risks to their protection and well-being.

This could be used together with the Joint Rapid Needs Assessment Tool.
