Save the Children UK
Co-financed by Save the Children UK and the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy at Harvard Kennedy School, the present policy analysis and evaluation was conducted to explore the issues and challenges of children in armed conflict in Côte d’Ivoire. The report outlines the problems posed and challenges in designing and implementing programmes that aim to reintegrate children formerly associated with armed forces and groups in post-conflict states, and addresses the challenges in measuring the effectiveness of such programmes. It makes clear that policy decisions should be made based on factual evidence and knowledge of impact and progress. The report includes a series of recommendations about project design that can be implemented in the short-term to address the project’s immediate issues and to improve its sustainability.
