This specific study by Save the Children Sweden is about how children’s rights can be supported in the Constitution of Southern Sudan [2005]. The study links the draft Constitution to the international legal instruments providing for child rights and child protection (the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of Children), as well as to the Constitution of other countries in Africa. The study does not claim to cover all aspects, but Save the Children Sweden hopes that it will inspire the men and women who are working on the Constitution, as well as the relevant governmental stakeholders, to include children’s rights in the Bill of Rights/Constitution.
