Save the Children (SC) envisions a world where gender inequality and other forms of injustice do not prevent children from realizing their rights. Our programmatic work focuses on high quality, gender-transformative interventions across sectors as well as stand-alone gender equality programming.
The capability statement highlights Gender Justice programming in Save the Children Malawi including key approaches in Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Prevention and Response, Child, Early, and Forced Marriage and Unions (CEFMU), Gender Equality in Education, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and Research in Gender and Power (GAP) Analysis. The publication also delves in Thought Leadership which expands on SC Malawi’s close collaboration with the Government of Malawi to advance gender justice through legislative change. Program examples such as Breakthrough Action on Ending CEFMU, Marriage: No Child’s Play; Netherlands Foreign Affairs and Empowering Girls through Education and Health (ASPIRE) are also included.
