According to the Protection Cluster, it is the responsibility of education actors to ensure that beneficiaries have safe and meaningful access to their services and mainstreaming protection into education programming is a way to achieve this.
With this in mind, this document provides guidance on how to mainstream protection into education programmes in Somalia. It does so by presenting the four key elements of Protection Mainstreaming and provides examples of how these can be incorporated into practice. The four key elements include prioritizing safety and dignity, promoting equitable and impartial access to all, ensuring accountability and strengthening participation and empowerment.
