‘Family is where corporal punishment is most frequent’. The objective of this handbook is to prevent corporal punishment within the family setting and to set the foundations for a positive relation between parents and children. The publication is part of the Awareness Campaign against corporal punishment of children in families, called “Educate, don’t hit!”, which was jointly developed by Save the Children Spain, Unicef, Ceapa and Concapa, between 1999-200, aiming at the explicit prohibition of corporal punishment to be included in relevant legislation. The book has adapted the Spanish experience to the reality of Central America.
