Around the world, momentum is growing to turn locally-led adaption from principle into practice. Among the first and most ambitious initiatives to take this approach are two projects funded by the Green Climate Fund (GCF): the Solomon Islands Knowledge-Action-Sustainability for Resilient Villages (SOLKAS) project and the Vanuatu Community-Based Climate Resilience Project (VCCRP).
With both projects passing the midpoint of implementation, a learning exchange organised between the two provided a timely opportunity to pause, reflect and take stock of early experiences. Locally-Led Adaptation in Action shares insights from the SOLKAS-VCCRP learning exchange on strengthening community engagement for climate resilience. The brief synthesises the key insights that emerged from the exchange and explores their implications for advancing locally-led adaptation across the Pacific.
