The COVID-19 pandemic will not only be a public health crisis, but also an economic and social crisis in countries all across the world. It may also contribute to an increase in ethnic, gender-based, and domestic violence. International mobilization is restricted due to reduced travel and supply lines, and many international actors are dealing with operational disruptions and domestic issues. Therefore, local and national civil society organizations have a critical role to play in the response needed.
Focusing on the roles of local and national actors, this position paper contributes to the discussion and decision-making on COVID-19 impact mitigation.
