Humanitarian crises, triggered by climatic shocks such as droughts and floods, lead to break down of traditional protection mechanisms and children become increasingly vulnerable to child protection risks ranging from increased child separation, child
engagement in income-generating activities, school dropouts, continued recruitment of children to armed groups/forces, and exacerbated psychological abuse and distress.

Save the Children in partnership with four local partners in arid and semi-arid counties, has been implementing lifesaving interventions to address the preceding child protection risks to ensure children survive and thrive as well as be protected from violence.
