Lives on Loan: Extreme poverty in Yangon

This report presents the human face and key findings of a technical survey conducted in 2015 by Save the Children in partnership with the Yangon City Development Committee (YCDC). The survey gained detailed information on the economic and social conditions of 300 households in three townships of Yangon. It provided a great deal of information on the extremely challenging conditions experienced by some of Yangon’s most vulnerable residents. It is a first step towards a more in-depth understanding of the causes and conditions of poverty in the city.
