Livelihood Assessment Tool: Sponsorship for Refugees 2025

This Livelihoods Impact Assessment evaluates the outcomes of a seed‑funding and capacity‑building intervention provided to 211 refugee adolescents and unaccompanied/separated children in 2025. Using mixed methods—including phone‑based surveys with 42 beneficiaries and focus group discussions with 31 participants—the assessment examines short‑ and medium‑term effects of business training, coaching, and financial support. Findings show strong participation in business management training, with 98% of respondents reporting that the skills acquired supported them in launching or improving their businesses. The majority (69%) established new businesses across sectors such as sewing, retail, beauty services, and barbering, mainly in Giza and Cairo.
