Lessons from Inclusive Community-based Disaster Risk Reduction in Earthquake-affected Areas of Nepal

When two earthquakes hit Nepal in 2015 with devastating consequences. the need for greater disaster preparedness on a community level, increased capacity for information management, and disaster response coordination became clear. 

Mission East, partnering with Save the Children, implemented an inclusive community-based disaster risk management project in four earthquake-affected districts. This summary highlights the key lessons from the project and provides recommendations for future disaster risk reduction and resilience programmes in Nepal.
