Save the Children Lebanon
This brief examines the compounding impacts of Lebanon’s economic collapse, conflict, and climate shocks on food security, livelihoods, nutrition, and child protection. With widespread poverty, high unemployment, and over half of households facing food insecurity, vulnerable groups—particularly children, women, youth, and persons with disabilities—face severe risks, including malnutrition, interrupted education, and negative coping mechanisms like child labor and early marriage. To address these challenges, the organization advocates for an integrated humanitarian-development approach combining emergency cash assistance, “Cash Plus” nutrition models, market-driven livelihoods programs, and inclusive social protection systems that prioritize child wellbeing and long-term resilience.
